ayurvedic postpartum bars

These bars were created out of my love for snacking! Having snacks on hand during the day that provide essential nutrients are a key factor in this recipe. During postpartum, I recommend eating these bars in the second or third week.

Ingredients:

1 1.5 c sprouted oats

1 c shredded coconut

1/4 c almonds

1/4 c walnuts

1/4 c cashews

1/4 c pumpkin seeds

1/2 c nut butter

2 T chia seeds

1/4 t cloves

1/4 t ginger

1 t shatavari

1/4 t spirulina

1/4 t himalayan salt

1 T vanilla

1 c dates soaked

1/4 c ghee

1.Soak nuts and dates separately for 20 minutes in hot water. (Cover dates with just enough water to be submerged)

2. Toast coconut and spices in ghee.

3. Add dry ingredients together in bowl.

4. Blend in a small mixer dates (with water from dates) and nuts until slightly smooth.

5. Combine all ingredients and mix well.

6. Pour mixture into a greased (with coconut oil) 11x9 pan and press ingredients firmly into pan.

7. Put in freezer 15-20 minutes

8. Store in an airtight container. If eating during postpartum eat at room temperature.
