Golden milk

I drink this magic milk mostly during the winter months and a ton when I was pregnant. The combination of warm milk and healing spices pack a powerhouse of benefits. This magic in a cup not only aids in digestion but has anti-inflammatory properties. The combination of turmeric and black pepper have been used in Ayurvedic drinks and dishes for thousand’s of year’s.

This recipe is easy and can be interchangeable, from which spices you add or which milk you use-cow’s milk to any choice of nut milk’s. I have found full fat works best.

Ingredients

  • Milk of your choice: nut, coconut, almond or cow- 1C

  • Turmeric-4Tbs

  • Pinch of black pepper

  • Pinch of cinnamon

  • Ginger- 1 small 1/4 inch peeled and grated

  • Coconut oil-1t


Mix all the ingredients together in a pan with an immersion blender or coffee frother. Simmer on low until warm and serve. If you need it a little sweeter you can add a date to the simmering milk.
